Action Alert: Oppose HB 1822, Cuts to Economic Development

As a result of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 crisis, the world is a much different place than it was just a few short weeks ago. Accordingly, the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) understands this year's legislative process will be unlike any we've seen in modern times and has focused its advocacy efforts on securing the programs, funding and flexibility that will enable its members and partners to pave a path that will allow our business community to stabilize, recover and return to prosperity as quickly as possible.

However, House Bill 1822 was amended this week to allow for the freezing of several funds, including the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA), Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority Fund and PA Infrastructure Bank funds.

Please visit our Action Center today to oppose this legislation and any other measures that strip us of the tools needed now more than ever to help the economy of Pennsylvania recover. With just a few quick clicks, you'll be able to send letters to your legislators, the Governor and local media either using the prepopulated content or your own customized language.
