PEDA is deeply saddened by the passing of Phil Eastman, a longtime friend, colleague, and member of our Board of Directors.
Phil devoted more than 40 years of his career to PECO and Exelon before retiring in 2024. Through his work in economic development, he became a trusted partner to businesses, communities, and organizations across the Greater Philadelphia region and made a lasting contribution to the region’s economic development community.
Phil’s commitment to his community extended well beyond his professional career. A longtime Springfield resident, he spent nearly three decades coaching youth and high school ice hockey, including many years with Springfield High School. He had also recently begun serving on the Springfield School District Board of Directors, continuing his lifelong commitment to the community and its young people.
We will remember Phil for his generosity, leadership and dedication to the communities he served. PEDA is grateful for the many years he gave to our organization and to the broader economic development profession.
Our thoughts are with Phil's family, friends, former players, colleagues and all those whose lives he touched. We extend our deepest condolences to them during this difficult time.
